11/02/2007 Regupol QT Becomes Ecore QT, QTscu, QT sound Insulation

Dodge-Regupol, Inc., Lancaster, PA, and Berleburger Schaumstoffwerk GMBH (BSW), Bad Berleburg, Germany, announced today they have concluded their successful 18-year joint venture partnership, effective November 1, 2007.

As North America's largest user of scrap tire rubber, Dodge-Regupol has made a thriving business out of finding creative ways to reduce, reuse and recycle. The company manufactures and markets high quality, innovatively designed cork, cork/rubber and recycled rubber products throughout North America. Each year, the company recycles 80 million pounds of scrap tire rubber, helping conserve more than 1 million barrels of oil to make viable solutions for the commercial, consumer and industrial markets.

BSW is a leading producer of surface products for the construction and sports industries throughout Europe and Asia and has strong foundations in the packaging and shipping industries.

"We've had a long-term, successful partnership with BSW that has been beneficial for both our companies," said Art Dodge, president and CEO of Dodge-Regupol. "I'd like to personally thank them for their support over the past 18 years."

"However, both of our businesses have grown and evolved successfully in new directions by taking advantage of emerging opportunities. As that pattern has continued, we mutually agreed it was the right time to conclude our joint venture. The result provides the best platform for future growth and profitability, allowing each business the freedom to best respond to changing market conditions while forging new business relationships in North America, Europe and international markets."

According to Dodge, moving forward, it will be business as usual for business operations. The company will continue to operate in Lancaster, PA, and retain ownership of its well-known brands, including: ECOsurfaces Commercial Flooring, EVERLAST Performance Flooring, TransMat load securement materials, QT Sound Insulation and PlayGuard Playground Surfacing along with its subsidiary units RTI LLC., A-Turf, SurfaceAmerica and SpectraTurf. "We'll continue to make great products and deliver outstanding service as we have previously," said Dodge.

The most notable change will occur in the company's name. As part of the transition, Dodge-Regupol will assume a new corporate name that will be introduced in January, 2008.

"Today marks a watershed event in the company's history and is a time of unparalleled excitement for our organization. The company is now positioned to grow at a rate faster than it has experienced in the past, and pursue business opportunities around the world that were not possible before," added Dodge.

"We are ready to accelerate the pace of the growth; growth enabled by our past successes and a solid foundation in the markets we compete. We are adopting an expanded mission that will present us with many new business frontiers. But, we will maintain our commitment to preserving the environment, a practice that has been in place since our inception."

Dodge-Regupol was founded in 1989 through a partnership between Dodge Cork Company and BSW. The company currently employs approximately 240 and maintains manufacturing and operating offices in Lancaster.

1/2/2008 QT At Home in World’s Tallest Building

When Skidmore, Owings, and Merril, one of the most prestigious architectural firms in the world, specified sound and vibration insulation for the Burj Dubai Tower, the tallest building in the world currently under construction, QT was its top choice.

The recycled rubber-based underlayment will be installed in the residential portion of the building, directly under stone flooring in hallways and bathrooms. QT may also be installed in several other locations in the building including under ceramic tile and hardwood in condominiums and beneath vinyl flooring in the Armani Hotel housed in the structure. When the project is completed, nearly 2 million square feet of QT products will be installed in the mammoth skyscraper.

“The Burj Dubai Tower is an example of modern day extraordinaire,” said Paul Downey, QT business unit manager. Naturally, a structure of its magnitude requires only the best materials. S.O.M. had its choice of sound underlayment but chose QT for its proven performance and acquired trust in the marketplace. It offers the versatility to perform at high levels with a variety of assemblies and under all floor coverings.”

QT’s appeal for inclusion in the Burj Dubai Tower was enhanced by the desire of Dubai Ruler Sheik Mohammed to invest in green building construction. While the word “green” generically refers to buildings that are environmentally friendly, it has also become synonymous for a set of standards put out by the United States Green Building Council called the Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design, or LEED, system. LEED puts priority on using energy efficiency, employing innovative construction materials, and recycling. Comprised of 100% post-consumer SBR tire rubber and 30% pre-consumer waste, QT products are designed to earn points in two of the six categories of LEED for New Construction. Based on these criteria, QT products can potentially contribute up to 5 points toward LEED certification.

When finished in 2009, the Burj Dubai tower will stand alone as the tallest building on Earth. It is rising from a desert oasis to a height of more than 2,000 feet and it will be the crown jewel of Dubai, United Arab Emirates.

3/13/2008 Ritz-Carlton Selects QT for Kapalua Resort in Hawaii

The $160 Million dollar transformation was completed just in time for the resort to host the annual 2008 Mercedes Open PGA event.

"The Ritz liked the idea that they could place tile, stone and wood directly on the QT,” said Paul Downey QT Business Unit Manager. “The fact that QT delivered the best impact sound control by far will help the Ritz guests and residents sleep well at night."

The Ritz-Carlton, sited QT Impact Sound Insulation’s proven reputation as a leader in the sound control field, and was particularly impressed by its consistent performance in more than 185 independent laboratory and field tests.

Comprised of 100% post-consumer SBR tire rubber and 30% pre-consumer waste, QT Impact Sound Insulation was designed to meet stringent criteria required to earn points is several LEED categories. In addition, ECORE’s QT Impact Sound Insulation is PVC free and exceeds the state of Washington and EPA standards for indoor air quality and meets the Collaborative for High Performance Schools (CHPS) criteria for indoor air quality. QT is a flat, resilient underlayment used directly beneath all floor finishes, yielding exceptional results even under hard surface flooring and over concrete and wood joist construction.

Architects and engineers worldwide have chosen QT because it has been tested to produce some of the best IIC rated systems in the industry and QT systems are certified to guarantee results and performance in the field.
